Now that you have a variety of materials gathered together, grab those that you are most drawn to playing with first.
If you are feeling precious about anything, or afraid of ruining something, please imagine that you are a young child. Your adult Self has just handed you some pieces of card and paper, some magazines, and some paints to play with.
Would you be angry at a child for 'messing up' any of those art materials?
I sincerely hope the answer is no. And so - please give yourself the same courtesy.
These materials are to be played with!
They are not fulfilling their life purpose (or their new-life re-purpose! if you are upcycling) if you neglect to play with them, so please. play.
Let yourself go.
Cover the table or floor, and wear an apron or old clothes, so that you can truly let go and feel free enough to have fun in a relaxed way.
2 - Let's Play!
Now it's your turn!
Let us know what discoveries you make with your own found materials over in The Playroom (and let me know if it is OK for me to share your pics and videos), and we shall collect some of them below, right here on this page.
Let's inspire each other with the novel ways in which different materials might be fun to play with . . . . .
