Slow Summer

15/7/2019

I feel it safe to say (sshh, let's not be too loud) that I have turned a corner in my recovery and rejuvenation, following 6 months of inactivity and (11 lb) cyst removal surgery in January, and although it has felt longer than I expected it to take, and I am still overweight and by no means physically fit, I can now walk 2-5 miles comfortably and without any subsequent aches in the abdomen, and I am gradually increasing the amount of yoga I do as well, in order to help my skeleton re-situate itself in the correct opened up position while my supporting muscles tone up.

It feels like I have just experienced the longest winter in history :)

And I do have a tendency to feel a low background level of dread as Autumn approaches each year, just in case I have a bad winter S.A. D. year.  This year I find myself wanting, rather too desperately, to make the most of the longer sunnier days and I know that great feelings do not come from desperation.

I do not want to get swept up in so much activity during the summer months, that I am burnt out and exhausted by Autumn. Nor do I want to spend my summer focusing on getting as fit and toned up as possible before the days shorten, nor do I want to spend it dreading the coming Autumn (due to it heralding winter) which - like many people - I actually adore.

Temperatures do not get so high (for long) in England that it encourages you to slow right down and stay inside, so consequently it is easy for the summer months to be rather frenetic.

So, I have established various practices which help me to sink into my NOW, to slow down, to breathe deeply and to engage my creative flow. You might already have spotted my #SlowSummer sharings on social media.

Care to join me?

Perhaps you do not feel the need to slow down.

Perhaps you wish to use the sunny days to increase your activity levels? Or complete a project?

Perhaps you simply want to focus on cultivating a feeling or two (I'll share mine with my Slow Summer circle).

Whatever it is you need, you are welcome to circle with me and consciously create the season you require / need / deserve.

(Most of my followers are in the northern hemisphere but if you are in the southern hemisphere you are of course welcome too!)

I shall be :

- pausing for three deep breaths

- earthing, grounding and connecting with nature

- stopping to smell the roses (and the fuchsias, peonies, lavender...)

- meditating, practising EFT,

- regularly stepping on to the yoga mat

- cooking, making, creating, painting (just for me and my creative soul, for cARTe postale, and also to finish up lots of goodies for my Summer Art Auction)

- focusing on connection; connecting with me, with my spirituality, with my chi/ki/prana/personal power, with my animal charges, with wildlife and with the natural world around me...

I promise my subscribers no more than one email update per month because I know how overwhelmed we all are these days, and inbox overwhelm just does not need to be added to the onslaught of input.

Consequently my tribe will need to opt in to the additional content (up to September 2019 when the #slowsummer content will cease).

Those on my mailing list simply need hit reply to the July newsletter to tell me they want in.

And those who are not yet on my mailing list may sign up to my monthly newsletter PLUS the Slow Summer content using this link here : :

Sign up to the Slow Summer Circle

I would love for you to join me.

All the Slow Summer prompts and videos and photos and ideas, are free to receive - and in fact you will see some of them on Facebook and Instagram even if you don't sign up  - but I am also offering subscribers a discount on my video ecourse 'cARTe postale' for those who fancy adding creativity to their great summer slow down.

We'll be re-purposing cardboard packaging and junk mail and anything we can get our hands on! and we shall be ripping and sticking, painting and scribbling : : turning our Junk Into Joy!

That is of course, a completely optional add-on, but the discount is available to subscribers only so hop on the list if you're interested.

**If you sign up after 15-07-19 and have missed the July love letter (and therefore the link to the discount) then please do drop me an email and I'll send it over to you right away xx

Whether you circle with me or not, I wish you the very summer (/winter) that you desire and that nourishes your soul and body.
